Video scanning can be a very effective way of finding problems in chimneys, checking for missing brickwork, bad and incorrect bends, holes cracks and dampness.

This shows the very rough and uneven surface of an old stone chimney and will cause a lot of turbulence (the smoke actually leaks through the side of this one!).


This picture shows the lining material which is failing and breaking away. This will cause the system to fail and leak smoke again.


This image shows poorly fitted liners, actually they are upside down and badly butted together.
